The revolutionary patented EOS - Elipitical Oscillation System regulates the speed of the spindle stroke resulting in flatter line lay and smoother operation, in turn creating less friction during casting which increases casting distance, provides greater accuracy, longer line life, and smoother, more uniform drag pressure.

DFD - Dual Force Drag incorporates both surfaces of the spool to maximize high end drag pressure, efficency and overall smoothness. Mounted in the top of the spool, and protected by the Hydro-Block seal is a multi-disk Japanese Oiled Felt drag system that works in conjunction with a secondary drag system that is mounted underneath the spool, applying even pressure to both the upper and lower spool surfaces for increased drag and maximum stability.

HDG (High Density Gearing)
Okuma's proprietary HDG forged main gear has been engineered to be 50% stronger than standard gearing due to its unique alloy composition and density. Helically cut gears further enhance the drive system's smoothness and efficiency with improved gear meshing. HDG gears were specifically designed to withstand the brutal punishment that today's super braids can place on reels and drive systems.

ALC - AlumiLite Construction incorporates Okuma's rigid aluminum body technology on spinning, trolling, and fly reel designs where the lightweight diecast aluminum frames provide more precise tolerances for precision gear alignment as well as greater strength to withstand more pressure and torque than traditional graphite framed reels.
