iExplore 70mm Refractor Telescope Instructions

  • Attached Tripod Legs

Connect all three tripod legs to the yoke tripod head (AZ mount) with the supplied bolts, washers, and nuts.

  • Attach the accessory tray

Attach the accessory tray by placing it on the bracket in between the three legs. Use the supplied bolt to secure the tray to the bracket.

  • Install Altitude adjustment rod

Attach the end of the rod onto the telescope using a supplied flathead screw.

  • Connect Rod to yolk

Slide the altitude adjustment rod through the eyehole on the yolk.  (The yolk holds the telescope tube-- see next step).

  • Connect telescope tube to yolk

Thread the two knobs (one on either side of the yolk) into the threaded holes on the telescope tube and tighten.

  • Attach finderscope

Use your thumbs to slide the finderscope into the socket (located on the telescope tube).

  • Insert diagonal and eyepiece

Insert the diagonal into the end of the telescope. Then insert the eyepiece into the diagonal. Tighten the thumbscrews to a firm feel. There is a large knob on the side which is used to focus the image.

  • Ready to use

Now you are ready to use the iExplore! By unlocking the knobs on the side you can slowly adjust the position of the telescope. Start by using the larger size eyepiece first (with the larger number). This will make it easier to see a wider view. Then once you locate and center your object simply slide out the originaly eyepiece and replace with a smaller eyepiece. This smaller eyepiece will increase your overall magnification.
