1. Is my battery fully charged right out of the box?
No. You should charge the battery for at least the recommended charge time in user’s manual before you use your new cordless tool.
2. Is there a battery break-in period?
Yes, most rechargeable batteries perform better after three to five recharge cycles.
3. Should I drain my battery before I put it back on the charger?
No need. Our batteries do not have memory issues. In fact, you should stop using a battery when you detect a noticeable decrease in power from the tool. Completely running down a battery may damage it.
4. Does it hurt the batteries to leave them in the battery charger?
No, in general it is OK leave batteries & cordless products in Black & Decker chargers but please consult the user’s manual for details. However, to save energy, we recommend that if you won’t be using your tool for a few weeks, take the fully charged pack off the battery charger and store it in a cool, dry location, then unplug the charger.
5. How can I improve the total life battery?
If no permanent damage has been done to your battery, you may be able to optimize its total life by following these steps:
Remember, the optimum temperature range for charging batteries is 40°F- 85°F. Charging batteries at extreme temperatures (below 32°F and above 105°F) can result in a permanent performance loss!
