- Measure & mark your cut line
- Using a straightedge, cut the line
- A couple of passes may be needed
- Use a chalk line to mark the cutting line

- From the back side, slice through the paper backing

- Apply adhesive on joists
- Raise the drywall to the ceiling
- Slide the first sheet tightly into a corner

- Tapered edges should always butt together
- Drive screws or nails into the drywall to fasten, forming a dimple

- Drill fasteners 7" apart on edges
- Drill fasteners 12" apart in the middle of the board
- Remove any fasteners which miss a stud and try again

- Stagger seams for stability

- For sheets with underlying fixtures, do not completely fasten
- Cut out around the fixtures
- Finish fastening the board
