Whole House Water Filtration Features

  • View 1

    • Excellent Drinking Water:

Experience great tasting water at a fraction of the cost of bottled water and eliminate the cost and inconvenience of replacing filters.

    • Extended Appliance Life:

The Central Water Filtration System filters out sediment particles that can build up in your home’s plumbing and appliances. The elimination of sediment helps to maintain household water pressure and increase the performance and life expectancy of your valuable appliances.

    • Softer Hair and Skin:

Many municipalities add chlorine to the water supply. Chlorine can damage and dry your skin and hair, and may give off an unpleasant odor. The Central Water Filtration System filters out chlorine and reduces the harmful effects to your hair and skin.

    • Zero Maintenance:

The Central Water Filtration System uses patented, performance-proven technology to deliver refreshing, filtered water throughout your entire home.

The Central Water Filtration System operates using a proprietary filter media bed with activated carbon. There are no filters to replace, and the system does not require maintenance like other whole home products. And unlike other systems, the Central Water Filtration System won’t reduce your household water pressure.

    • Filterless Technology:

Using FilterSense™ Technology, the Central Water Filtration System automatically flushes, cleans and drains its internal filter every 14 days. This allows the media bed to continually filter sediment and chlorine throughout the entire home. The system can also be programmed to clean itself more or less frequently depending on the water conditions in your area.

    • Green Solution:

Water quality is quickly becoming one of the most important considerations when purchasing a home. In fact, much like air exchangers and central air systems, products like the Central Water Filtration System are influential for homebuyers that place an emphasis on comprehensive and comfortable indoor living.

In addition to providing high quality water everywhere in your home, you will also be contributing to a healthier environment. You no longer need to purchase new filters and throw out the old, dirty cartridges. Not only that, purchasing, transporting and discarding cases of bottled water can be eliminated.

The Central Water Filtration System runs off a 24 volt transformer  so it uses only about 18 kilowatts/year which is less than a typical digital alarm clock.

    • Easy Installation:

The Central Water Filtration System comes with everything to install and hook up to 1” NPT (National Pipe Thread). However there are just a couple of items that you will need to complete the installation.

      You will need:
Two 1” NPT female connectors and enough tubing to connect to your existing plumbing.
A drain for the self-cleaning process. 10 feet of drain tubing is supplied, but if your drain is further than 10 feet away, you will need to purchase enough 1/2” tubing to reach your drain. The drain should not be more than 50 feet from the install.

The power cord (transformer) needs to plug into a 110V power outlet. The unit comes with a 10 foot power cord.
It is important to note that your water supply (municipal or private well) will determine where the unit should be installed.

Whole House Water Filtration FAQ

  • Specification 1

    • How does it work?
The Central Water Filtration System has a multi-layered media bed that filters sediment, chlorine and other undesirable elements from your water supply. The bed is made up of quartz under-bedding for better water distribution, fine sand and a screen filter particles from your water, and a special grade of carbon to remove chlorine taste and odor as well as other undesirables in your water supply. The system cleans itself at regular intervals, giving you a maintenance-free solution for clean, great-tasting water.

      What does it filter/remove?

The Central Water Filtration System will filter sediment, chlorine, pharmaceuticals and other elements from your water supply.
Why would you want to remove the chlorine from your water supply? Chlorine is the chemical your city uses to treat your water to make it safe for drinking; however, the hazards may outweigh the benefits. In addition to chlorine smelling and tasting bad, showering and bathing in chlorinated water can dry out your hair and skin.

How much sediment will it remove?

The media bed and the screen located in the top of the system work together to remove sediment from your water supply. The system has been tested to filter sediment and other particles to 40 microns. By comparison, human hair is about 75 microns in diameter.

How much electricity does it use?
The Central Water Filtration System is powered by a 24 volt transformer and consumes only about 18 kilowatts/year. This is less than the power consumed by a typical digital alarm clock.

  • Specification 2

    •

    • Does the filter need to be changed?
No, because it doesn’t use a traditional filter. The system’s cycle is set to clean itself every 14 days. This interval can be customized from 1 to 30 days, depending on your water usage and water conditions. When it cleans itself, the system flushes the sediment and other particles it has collected out the drain hose and down a drain, readying itself for continued filtering of these contaminants.

How much water does it use to clean itself?
The system uses about 10 gallons of water to clean its media bed of the contaminants it has collected. The cleaning process lasts about 3 minutes.

      Does it soften the water?
It will not soften your water. The Central Water Filtration System removes sediment, chlorine and other elements in your water supply. A water softener is needed to remove calcium and magnesium (hardness) from your water supply.
Do you still need to use other types of filters in your home? The Central Water Filtration System will take the place of most of the filtration products in your home. You may no longer need most refrigerator filters, shower filters or whole home cartridges. You may still want to install a Whirlpool Water Purifier or Reverse Osmosis system if you have a specific water concern or desire an even higher level of water filtration.

  • Specification 3

    •

    • Will the central water filtration system remove rotten egg smell (hydrogen sulfide)?
It is not intended to remove hydrogen sulfide. A water treatment expert can test your water supply and determine what type of water treatment is needed.

How long should the system last?
It will vary based on your water usage and the quality of your incoming water. The media inside the Central Water Filtration System has been tested to last approximately 10 years (assuming a household of four persons consuming 75 gallons of water per person per day and assuming an incoming chlorine concentration of 1.0 PPM).

Will it work on private well systems?
Yes, the Central Water Filtration System is an ideal solution for private wells, as it will filter sediment and other undesirable components that could exist in the well. Wells with iron or other organic contaminants will shorten the life expectancy of the system; if iron is present, a water softener and/or iron filter should be installed and plumbed ahead of the Central Water Filtration System.
