Water Softener Features

  • View 1

    • Extends the Life of Your Appliances:

Hard water produces scale build-up in plumbing and appliances which can force appliances to work harder, potentially shortening their life span and requiring them to consume more energy, costing you more money. Water softeners help to eliminate these problems.

    • Soft Water Helps Clothes and Dishes Look Better:

Soft water allows soaps to lather better and requires less detergent for laundry; it also allows soap to rinse better, producing brighter, softer clothes and clean, spot-free dishes. Skin feels smoother and less dry.

    • Soft Water Even Helps Household Fixtures:

The same build-up that occurs inside a home’s plumbing also occurs on faucets, showerheads and drains, making them dingy and harder to clean.  Water softeners help to eliminate this build-up making cleaning easier.

    • Salt Saving, 6th Sense™ Technology:

Only Whirlpool® water softeners employ 6th Sense™ Technology for regeneration. The result is a significant savings in salt and water usage. Competitive models typically use a ‘fixed’ amount of salt to regenerate its media tank regardless of how much water has passed through the system. Whirlpool’s® 6th Sense™ Technology automatically calculates how much salt is required to clean its media bed and uses only what is necessary.

    • Uses Up to 25% Less Salt and Water*:

Water softeners need to regenerate to continue to soften water. With Demand Initiated Regeneration, the Whirlpool® 33,000 unit monitors your water usage and only regenerates when necessary, which minimizes your water and salt usage. Older timer-based models regenerate on a set cycle regardless of how much water you’ve used; this can result in unnecessary water and salt consumption.

    • Operating Light:

This is an indicator light that will inform you that your softener is working efficiently. The light will flash to indicate that you are low on salt, not out. This will allow you a few days to refill the salt tank.

    • High Flow Valve:

Allowing for maximum water flow to your house without a drop in pressure to your fixtures and appliances.

    • 2 Year Full Parts and Labor Warranty:

The warranty on this unit is: - 2 year full parts and labor* - 3 years on the electronics - 10 years on the tanks.
(*2 year in home labor warranty with use of Whirlpool™ Water Softener Cleanser Model # WHE-WSC, See Warranty for Details)

    • Easy Installation:

Whirlpool® Water Softeners come with detailed instructions and everything you need to install the unit, including a bypass valve.

Water Softener Installation

  • INSTALLATION WILL REQUIRE:

Two 1" NPT female connectors and enough tubing to connect from the water softener to your existing plumbing. You may have copper, PVC, CPVC, steel or PEX plumbing. Each of these plumbing types may require different materials and different tools for installation.

A drain is necessary for the regeneration or recharge process. Drain tubing is supplied and the drain should not be more than 30 feet away from the softener and the drain line should not be elevated more than 8 feet above the floor.

The power cord (transformer) needs to be plugged into a 110V continuous live outlet. The unit comes with a 10 foot power cord.
