Trex Accents® Installation

  • Easy to Install
  • Tools

Standard woodworking tools can be used to assemble your Trex® deck.

    • A miter box saw with a 10 to 12 inch, 30-tooth blade is recommended for cutting material.
    • Use a router to shape decking edges as desired

[Saw Blades: For most Trex profiles, saw blades with fewer teeth (18-24, on a 7 1/4” blade) stay cooler]

  • Fasteners

Enjoy a seamless, smooth finish with Trex Hideaway® Hidden Fasteners, compatible with all Trex decking products.

  • Gapping

As you install Trex decking, you will need to ensure appropriate gapping between boards to allow for drainage and expansion. You will need to gap Trex both end-to-end and width-to-width during installation. Gapping requirements differ depending on your climate.

  • Spanning

Trex decking meets all applicable national model building codes. The joists must be spaced on centers according to the chart. Be sure that all joists are level and plumb.

  • Code Compliance

Before you get started, be sure to check local codes for rules and restrictions for deck installation.
