Trex® Railings How to Buy Railing

  • What You'll Need (to complete one 6' section)

    1. Rail Post Sleeve (1 per railing section)

    2. Post Sleeve Skirt (1 per post sleeve)

    3. Railing Kit (1 top rail & 1 bottom rail per section)

    4. Balusters or Spindles (see chart)

    5. Post Sleeve Cap (1 per post sleeve)

  • Step 1: Select a Post Sleeve

    Trex Transcend® Railing post sleeves come in two sizes – 4x4 or 6x6.

    Trex Designer Series Railing® post sleeves are offered in one 4x4 size.

    Each 6x6 post sleeve fits over a 4x4 pressure treated post.

  • Step 2: Select a Post Sleeve Skirt

    Post skirts add decorative trim to your railing.

    They come in 4x4 or 6x6 to match your post sleeve size.

  • Step 3: Select Railings

    Railings not only offer support, but also provide great style detail for your outdoor space.

  • Step 4: Select Balusters

    Trex Transcend® and Designer Series Railing® are offered in square, colonial, architectural and contemporary (round aluminum) designs.

    Refer to the chart to know how many railing balusters you’ll need to complete your space.

  • Step 5: Select a Post Sleeve Cap

    Trex Transcend® and Designer Series Railing® post sleeve caps come in flat or pyramid designs.
