All infants must ride rear-facing at least until they have reached 1 year of age and weigh 20 lbs. However, BRITAX recommends that children ride rear-facing to the highest weight or height specified for this child seat.
Children must meet ALL of the following requirements to ride rear-facing in this child seat:
If the child cannot be secured within these requirements because the child is too large, review the forward-facing requirements.
If the child does not meet these requirements because they are too small, use of the infant positioning insert or selection of a different child seat (such as an infant car seat) may be required. The infant positioning insert is sold separately and can be found on www.britaxusa.com.
Be sure to check for the proper harness height before you install your child seat in the vehicle. Place the child in the child seat and place the harness straps over the child's shoulders.
Observe where the shoulder harness is positioned on the child. For rear facing, harness straps should be located at or below the top of the child's shoulders.
