Wagner Power Roller Set-up & Clean-up Helpful Set-Up & Painting Tips

  • Power Roller Set-up Step #1 - Get Ready

    Prep the room and get ready to start your project. Set-up the drop cloths, mask the trim, stir the paint and set-up the Wagner Power Roller - plug in the unit and get all the parts ready to paint.

  • Power Roler Set-up Step #2 - Place Lid On Paint Can

    Tightly place the lid on the paint can. Align arrow on the lid and the paint can, so the hose will fit under the paint can handle.

  • Power Roller Set-up #3 - Insert Suction Tube

    Insert the suction tube until it reaches the bottom of the can. (Do not carry unit by pulling the paint hose).

  • Power Roller Set-up Step #4 - Place Can On Stand

    Place can on base so that the arrows on the lid and the base line up. Tightly close latch on the can strap.

    The wire handle on the paint can may now be used to for transporting the unit (DO NOT move by pulling on the paint hose tube).

  • Power Roller Set-up Step #5 - Assemble Core

    Assemble core and roller cover together and place on the cap.

  • Power Roller Set-up Step #6 - Attach Roller Cover

    Attach the roller cover to the roller arm, making sure the roller assembly snaps into the locking tab.

    Attach the spatter shield.

  • Power Roller Set-up Step #7 - Power Up To Paint

    Plug in power cord. Turn selector switch on bas to PAINT. 

    No paint will flow until button on the handle is pressed.

  • Power Roller Set-up #8 - Press Hold

    Press and hold handle button until paint appears through the roller cover.  When roller cover is saturated with paint, Release the handle button and start rolling.

    Press and Release handle button as necessary for paint flow.

  • Power Roller Set-up Step #9 - Get Your Project Rolling

    Start applying paint to the surface.

    Helpful Painting Tips -

    • Practice controlling the paint flow while painting a piece of scrap wood or cardboard. Do not overload the roller with paint. An overloaded roller wil slide, drip and spatter excessively.
    • When painting with the roller, make sure your woodwork, floor and furnishings are sufficiently protected against any drips or spatters.
    • The spatter shield serves as a rest for the roller when the arm is not in use. Make sure the unit is turned off and the roller cover is not saturated with paint when using the spatter shield for for rest periods, or paint will drip and accumulate in the spatter shield.
    • During extended break periods, place your roller cover assmebly in a plastic bag to keep from drying out.

 

Wagner Power Roller Set-up & Clean-up Helpful Clean-Up Tips

  • Power Roller Clean-up Step #1 - Remove Roller Cover

    Remove roller cover from the roller arm and place them in bucket or sink for cleaning.

  • Power Roller Clean-up Step #2 - Remove Suction Hose

    Remove suction hose from lid and place in cleaning solution. Either warm soapy water for removing latex paints or minerals spirits for oil-based paints.

  • Power Roller Clean-up Step #3 - Put Roller Arm Over Can

    Remove lid and hold roller arm over paint can. Make sure switch is turn to PAINT.  Press and hold handle button to pump paint through hose and into paint can. Release handle button when cleaning solution reaches the paint can. 

  • Power Roller Clean-up Step #4 - Place Arm Over Bucket

    Once the paint is removed and the cleaning solution appears, place the roller arm over the bucket.

  • Power Roller Clean-up Step #5 - Start Automatic Cleaning

    Turn the switch on the base of the unit to CLEAN and let it run for at least 10 minutes.

  • Power Roller Clean-up Step #6 - Clean Remaining Parts

    Thoroughly clean the roller cover, core and cap. Press the quick-release tabs and remove the arm from the handle.
