Remington Chain Tensioning (Limb N' Trim) Tensioning Instructions

  • Loosen guide bar nuts.

    12" and 14" Electric Saws:

    Covers the following models: RM1215U, RM1415U, RM1415A. 


    Use 7/16" wrench to loosen guide bar nuts.

  • Turn tensioning screw clockwise to tighten chain.

    12" and 14" Electric Saws:

    Covers the following models: RM1215U, RM1415U, RM1415A.


    Do not overtighten. Be sure that the chain moves freely in guide bar groove. Guide links should not come out of the groove.

  • Tighten guide bar nuts.

    12" and 14" Electric Saws:

    Covers the following models: RM1215U, RM1415U, RM1415A.

    Once chain is tensioned, tighten guide bar nuts to complete process.

  • Loosen guide bar nut.

    16" Electric Saw: 

    Covers the following models: RM1630U, RM1630A, RM1630W.

    Use 1/2" wrench to loosen guide bar nut.

     

  • Turn tensioning screw to tighten chain.

    16" Electric Saw:

    Covers the following models: RM1630U, RM1630A, RM1630W.

    Do not overtighten. Be sure that the chain moves freely in guide bar groove. Guide links should not come out of the groove.

  • Tighten guide bar nut.

    16" Electric Saw:

    Covers the following models: RM1630U, RM1630A, RM1630W.

    Once chain is tensioned, tighten guide bar nuts to complete process. 

  • Loosen guide bar nuts.

    16" Electric Saws:

    Covers the following model: RM1632A

    Use 1/2" wrench to loosen guide bar nuts.

     

  • Turn tensioning screw to tighten chain.

    16" Electric Saws:

    Covers the following model: RM1632A.


    Do not overtighten. Be sure that the chain moves freely in guide bar groove. Guide links should not come out of the groove.

  • Tighten guide bar nuts.

    16" Electric Saws:

    Covers the following model: RM1632A.

    Once chain is tensioned, tighten guide bar nuts to complete process.
