Prepare and MeasurePrepare
Use Spray Paint to mark a line to help guide you in your excavation.
Tools Needed - Spray Paint and Shovels.
Measure
Excavating a 5" Depth is the minimum amount.
The Deeper the Paver Base, the more stable your wall will be.
The trench should be 4" wider than your Retaining Wall Block.
Tools Needed - Tape Measure.
Preparing the BasePaver Base
It's important the Paver Base is compacted to ensure the integrity of the wall.
Tools Needed - Shovel and Hand Tamper.
Leveling Sand
Lay the Sand out in 10-15 foot increments to help keep the sand as level as possible.
Preparing the BlocksStarting Point
Always start the Wall on the lowest elevation side of the trench, not in the middle.
Remove Lip
Knock the Lip off the Retaining Wall for the 1st Layer Only.
